This was an impromptu talk and demonstration by Steve Oxley from Broadstones School in Reddish. He talked about sign writing and different styles for different applications, and how energy can be added based on how the letters are formed e.g. the 10 of 10 Downing Street.
He then showed examples of hand-painted ‘marble’ panels and proceeded to give a fascinating demo, creating a variety of wood grains on a panel using oil paint and a number of simple tools… the knowledge and expertise Steve has is superb.
We will definitely be getting Steve back to give us a full 2 hour demonstration, perhaps with the opportunity of us having a go…
