A wonderful demonstration from Julia Borodina. Julia paints in oils, acrylics and watercolour, but this demonstration was an acrylic landscape, using a photograph of The Trinnacle above Dovestone Reservoir as her inspiration.
After her initial paint sketch, she used sponges for the first hour then switched to brushes for finer detail. She explained her process really well, with a great relaxed style to both her painting and her conversation. We loved that her Russian accent occasionally slid into broad Yorkshire. Her training in Chinese writing can be seen in the expressive brushstrokes.
We hope these photos do the evening justice and show how beautifully Julia grows her painting in such a short time. Much more about Julia and an extensive gallery of her stunning work can be found on her website: www.juliaborodina.co.uk
