We had a wonderful relaxed demonstration in oil and cold wax by Saima Rasheed. The wax is beeswax, and serves to thicken and smooth the paint, giving a lovely sheen. The demo painting wasn’t a straight copy of the reference photo – and all painted with a squidgee !
