2025 Exhibition

A huge thank you to everyone who came down to our 56th exhibition. It was great to see so many of you. At times the rooms were so busy it was difficult to see the exhibits! It was also so nice to see some children too, so well done Mums and Dads for encouraging another generation of artists!

The amount of talent we have in the society goes without saying, and it’s always a suprise to see what members have been working on. Over 200 paintings, plus sculptures, cards and browsers (unframed artwork) has kept us all busy.

People commented on how they had enjoyed the demonstrations from some of our members, and we are delighted to have had enquiries from several people who would like to join us. Everyone is always welcome no matter where you are up to with your art, enthusiasm is all that’s needed, we all had to start somewhere!

Our visitors voted for their favourite painting of the exhibition, and this year ‘We Built this City’ by Roy Evans got the most votes. Well done to him!

“An oil painting based on sketches done in Manchester on days out with the Manchester Urban Sketchers. It is based on an area behind the Hotspur Press building and Deansgate station. It reflects the continuing construction and growth of the city and is counterpoint to some of my other artworks which reflect the history and urban decay of the city.”

Next year’s exhibition will be the 3rd weekend of May when we will be welcoming you all again. In the meantime it’s back to the easel…
