A local artist who loves telling stories in acrylic and capturing urban images in pen & watercolour. I particularly enjoy vintage items and buildings/subjects that are full of history. When I’m not painting I teach theatre skills and write and perform short festive tales, hence story telling often creeps into my art. Many paintings, especially my bespoke commissioned pieces, have words hidden in the brush strokes. An example of this was The Last Post, which depicted the Victorian post box near Mellor Church, and had ‘letters home’ printed in the surrounding stonework. This was adopted by The Marple Poppy Appeal and copies were displayed in many local venues. A more recent commission of Town Street is being used by The Marple Bridge Association on their social media platforms and sold as a fund-raising original artwork plus being available as prints and Christmas Cards.
