I am a local artist and I am completely self taught. I got the art bug in my 30’s when I attended a night class at Gateshead college. As they say I have never looked back. For me art is something that brings my heart Joy!! It is my happy place where I can play, have fun and enjoy myself. I just love creativity. To keep my creative juices flowing and the ideas flowing, I tend to doodle every day.

In the past I had a silk painting business and had stalls at craft shows. I have had my work printed in French silk painting magazine and also in wool magazines. I ran a small art group for people with dementia for a period of time. I was very involved in an Art group in Sale and organised a creative arts conference. I have also done a number of demo’s in spinning wool. I have had my designs used on Christmas cards for the Haemochromatosis Society.

In the past couple of years, I have focussed on Gouache, Ink, mixed media. I love to make my own paper from recycled materials, and include teabags in a lot of my art. I like to experiment, play and see how it all works out. As I long as I am having fun creative lifestyle, then it’s ok.
